What You’ll Learn
Our goal is to create nursing career opportunities for all our students. Our three-year BSN program is designed to provide you with a bachelor’s degree in nursing and prepare you for the NCLEX-RN licensure exam. Students enrolled in our BSN courses are trained to perform the following nursing duties and responsibilities:
- Recording patient medical histories and symptoms
- Administering patient medications and treatments
- Supporting and contributing to new or existing treatment plans
- Observing and recording patient health and responses to treatment
- Collaborating with doctors and other healthcare professionals
- Operating medical equipment

In our Bakersfield program, simulation labs, hands-on training, and online classes will help prepare you for a career in nursing. You will complete 120 units to earn your BSN degree. Furthermore, our nursing program is delivered in a hybrid format. Some courses are presented in a traditional classroom, while others are completed on a virtual platform. This will allow you to maintain your daily life while pursuing your dream career.

Finished the nursing program at Unitek and it was fun but challenging. The school environment was very friendly and the staff members are great. As challenging as the program was, they were always very supportive and kept our motivation going.
The Bakersfield Campus
Our college occupies over 10,000 square feet at 333 Palmer Drive in Bakersfield, California. Not only is our campus in a convenient location, but we provide students with exciting programs and smaller class sizes. To accommodate our students, we maintain 4 classrooms, 2 skills labs, and 2 computer labs. You also have access to a student lounge and study area.
Bakersfield is currently one of two Unitek campuses that offers the BSN program. Our simulation lab alone is one of the most excellent learning resources for our aspiring nursing students. At Bakersfield, we are proud of our comprehensive yet efficient curriculums. Several of our programs will give you access to healthcare facilities, practical training, and expert instruction. In addition, most of our programs can be completed in a year or less.
Nursing Simulation Labs
Our BSN simulation labs are a great benefit for our students. They occupy the entire third floor of our campus and are designed to provide realistic nursing scenarios. In fact, all our programs offer hands-on labs to support student learning and simulation techniques. Our BSN program is also accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
Virtual Platform
Online classes are another great component of our BSN program. A virtual platform can provide you with various benefits, such as flexible hours for coursework and assignments, as well as 24/7 technical assistance. We offer our students we two pathways to earn their Bachelor’s in Nursing: 1) Full BSN program (no nursing experience) and 2) Advanced Placement (for current LVNs).
At the end, with the help of Career Services, I ended up getting hired at the first place my resume was sent to, and I really enjoy it.
