The Bakersfield Campus

Unitek College in Bakersfield received institutional accreditation in 2018 from the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC).

Occupying over 10,000 square feet, the Bakersfield campus is framed by sunny skies and mountain views. We maintain various classrooms, skills labs, computer labs, and a student lounge. In addition, we maintain enough administrative offices and staff to adequately support students in their educational pursuits. Though it depends on each program’s schedule, our campus is typically open on weekdays from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

We aim to support our students in every way possible. Our labs, for example, are designed to foster an active and dynamic learning environment. We also encourage all our Medical Assisting students to form close bonds as they grow and develop into qualified healthcare professionals.

We hope you can start once you’re ready. With multiple starts throughout the year, Unitek has a relatively flexible enrollment schedule. However, most of our programs have deadlines, so we do recommend you begin gathering your admissions documents upon making your decision to apply.

Certification is not a state or federal requirement for Medical Assistants. However, graduates of our program may be qualified to take various certification exams. These include the NCCT exam for the National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) credential and the American Medical Technologists (AMT) to gain the Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential.

While such credentials are not required to graduate, they may be of value depending on your particular career goals. Our faculty members are available to counsel students who wish to get certified.
