Regardless of your past medical experience or background, the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program in Fremont can lead you to a rewarding career in nursing. It can also act as a pathway for Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) to advance their careers.

In one to three years, you can earn your BSN degree. Our 120-unit nursing course curriculum is CCNE accredited and includes online coursework, advanced placement, and NCLEX passing assistance. Through our nursing program, you will train to work in a variety of healthcare settings, such as complex & critical care, acute care, long-term care, community health nursing, school nursing, and home healthcare.

Acquiring a BSN degree at our Fremont campus will give you the knowledge and skillset to meet the increasingly complex demands of our healthcare system. At Fremont, our primary goal is to prepare you for the RN licensure exam and future nursing employment.

Here you will receive hands-on training through simulation labs, utilizing high-fidelity mannequins that emulate clinical scenarios. We invested in these labs to provide you with the most enriching learning environment possible. Beyond the BSN coursework, we also partner with reputable magnet hospitals for supervised externships, which allow you to train under experienced nurses in a clinical setting.

At Fremont, you will learn how to:

BSN Program with a Career-Driven Curriculum

To fulfill the requirements of our Fremont BSN program, you will complete 120 units of nursing courses. Not only will our curriculum prepare you for the NCLEX-RN exam, but it will do so in a hybrid environment. This means that some classes are attended in a traditional classroom, while others are entirely online. This allows busy parents and working adults to manage their daily responsibilities while pursuing their dream.

For aspiring nurses who which to specialize, our nursing courses will introduce you to a variety of healthcare concentrations, including:

The Fremont BSN program is approved to accommodate 160 students per year. We also partner with ATI Testing to help you pass the licensing exam. Lastly, our career services team provides graduates with effective support and they conduct a yearly career fair that is attended by multiple clinical partners.

The Fremont Campus

The Unitek College Fremont campus is ideally located for aspiring nurses in California. Occupying more than 50,000 feet, Fremont is a hotspot for our nursing faculty and programs. Some of these include the BSN program, Vocational Nursing, and courses for international RNs. We also offer two pathways to prospective students to earn their BSN degrees: Full (no nursing experience) and Advanced Placement (for current LVNs).

Our clinical partners in the Fremont area are some of the finest healthcare facilities in the Bay Area. Our graduates can apply to notable employers like Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, Washington Hospital Healthcare System, Palo Alto Medical Foundation (PAMF), Fremont Hospital, and Tri-City Health Center.

Other advantages include a mild climate, accessibility, and public transportation. Our Fremont campus is within proximity of numerous institutions that our students utilize for clinical rotations. We also support qualifying students who require financial aid, as our campus is a Title IV awarding institution.

Online Coursework

At Unitek College, our online classes are primarily funneled through the Fremont campus. Framed by sunny skies and gradual mountainous views, our Fremont campus is located in the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area. It lies near the arterial I-880 highway at 4670 Auto Mall Parkway. In addition, our campus sits in a safe area of the city with several nearby establishments. These include a performing arts studio, a fitness center, and several eateries.

Our sunny Fremont campus enjoys coastal weather at 4670 Auto Mall Parkway. It is conveniently located near several major highways and houses 13 classrooms, 10 labs, and a well-furnished library. Along with other amenities, you can visit our student lounge when you need a quiet space. Our campus is also equipped with learning resource stations that are used for research or study purposes.

The City of Fremont lies in historic Alameda County and is only seven miles from San Francisco Bay. Among Fremont’s many attractions are museums, landmarks, and historic buildings. In general, Fremont is well-known for destinations like the Niles Essanay Silent Film Museum, Old Mission San Jose, Niles Canyon Railway, Ardenwood Historic Farm, and Coyote Hills Regional Park.

What is the average class size for the BSN program in Fremont?

For on-campus instruction, we allow a maximum of 40 students per class. However, 10 students is the maximum for each offsite clinical rotation.

What do BSN class schedules typically look like?

One of our admissions representatives could provide you with the most up-to-date answer. Generally, though, on-campus instruction can be scheduled anytime between 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday through Friday. Off-site clinical training might be scheduled during the day, evening, or weekend.

How fast can I graduate from the Fremont BSN program?

Depending on the pathway you choose—we offer three at Unitek—you can complete the BSN program in about one to three years.

Does Fremont provide on-campus dining facilities?

We maintain several vending machines that can provide quick snacks or delicious drinks. You can also find an abundance of Indian cuisine in Fremont, not to mention plenty of other stores and restaurants.

How close is public transportation to the Fremont campus?

The AC transit 239 stops right across the street from our school. In addition, the subway (BART) is only two miles away. Some of our instructors take the subway from Oakland to Fremont (40 minutes approximately) before catching the 239 to the campus (7 minutes approximately). There are other bus lines that intersect with our campus as well.
