What You’ll Learn

The Ontario VN program will help prepare you with the skills, knowledge, and experience to pass the VN licensure exam and launch a successful career as a Vocational Nurse. Our vocational nursing courses combine professional instruction with simulation exercises and lab work.

Nursing duties you will learn to perform include:

Assessing and monitoring patients

Starting intravenous fluids
Providing care to ventilator-dependent patients

Are there any prerequisites for the Ontario Vocational Nursing program

Yes, students who wish to enroll in the Vocational Nursing program in must first complete a prerequisite course that prepares them for the rigors of learning in a fast-paced academic environment. Topics covered during this Vocational Nursing prerequisite course include study skills, critical thinking, nursing education levels, and the role of a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN). Students will also receive instruction on healthcare communication, web-based nursing resources, dosage calculations, and medical terminology related to the primary systems of the human body. The course consists of 80 hours of instruction and can be completed in as little as 2 weeks.
