Unitek Joins Forces with Highlands Community Charter and Technical Schools
Unitek Partners with Nonprofit Organization to Help Students Achieve Success in Sacramento.
Newport Beach, California – Unitek Learning is thrilled to announce a new partnership with Highlands Community Charter and Technical Schools (HCCTS). A pillar in the Sacramento community, Highlands Community Charter School believes “It’s Never Too Late…to Graduate!” They provide a high school diploma program along with career training to students who are twenty-two years of age or older and who have not yet earned their U.S. high school diploma. Highlands also offers elementary language classes for adults who are learning English as a Second Language (ESL) to prepare them for the workforce. Together, Unitek Learning and HCCTS will partner on an aligned approach to supporting adults on their journey toward real-world education.
“For the past decade, Highlands Community Charter and Technical Schools has been on a mission to positively reshape the lives of adults and strengthen our communities,” said Caitlin Masterson, Vice President of Workforce Development Administration at Unitek Learning. “Our goal is to partner with HCCTS on workforce development for adults in Sacramento. Together, we envision a community where adults can reach their full potential through personal empowerment and financial self-sufficiency. With that in mind, we have created an educational pathway to help advance the workforce so they can take advantage of every opportunity.”
Through this transformative partnership, Highlands Community Charter and Technical Schools will work with Unitek Learning to better assist students in Sacramento by providing its students with access to Unitek College’s Medical Assisting (MA) program. Students in this program currently learn through hands-on lab exercises, online exercises, and supervised externship hours. They will also benefit from experienced instructors and employment assistance. HCCTS has projected a class size of 60 students per year, which will allow them to help these individuals enter the U.S. workforce at no educational cost.
