School History

Unitek College LLC is a private institution that was founded in 1992. The founders backgrounds include both academic and technical specialties. This provides them with a keen insight regarding what is needed to be an outstanding provider of education as well as the technical expertise to make it all work.

Unitek College's parent company Unitek Information Systems also owns a training institution called Unitek Education. Unitek Education and their programs are in no way affiliated with Unitek College.

APPROVALS:

State of California - Bureau for Private Post Secondary Education (BPPE)

Unitek College's application for approval to operate has been reviewed by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education and was provided a full approval which is set to expire on March 18, 2015.

The Bureau has approved the following programs:

• Pharmacy Technician
• Medical Assistant
• Vocational Nursing (LVN)
• Registered Nursing Associates Degree ( LVN to RN Transition)
• Bachelors of Science Nursing Degree (RN to BSN)

ACCSC Accreditation

The Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC) is a recognized accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education. ACCSC has given Unitek College a school institutional approval that covers all programs offered at the school.

• Unitek College Fremont Main Campus is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC)
• Unitek College Santa Clara is recognized by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC) as a satellite location of Unitek College Fremont Main Campus.
• Unitek College Sacramento Campus is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC)

CA Board Approvals

• Approved by the California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians for training in vocational nursing.
• Approved by the Board of Registered Nursing for LVN to RN Transition ADN program.

Advisory Board

Our Advisory Board meets twice a year in order to discuss and review information about the most up-to-date health care trends and statistics thus providing quality health care training to meet the needs of the growing industry. The Advisory Board's goal is to produce well educated graduates who are motivated to reach their fullest potential as a professional in the community.

Each member's function on the Advisory Board is to discuss and review national testing result statistics, employment statistics and current program curriculum and serve as the source of information for program directors to adjust Unitek College's Medical programs. Members include key industry people, professional educators, and employers that keep up-to-date information on the fast-pace growing industry and understand the importance of qualified health care professionals.
